The simple Icon Constructor interface makes it easy to change the appearance of any folder. It supports Windows XP icons from 32 bit color and alpha channel, but now you can easily create semi-transparent XP icons. It's simple - a few mouse clicks - and the picture becomes an icon.

First run IconConstructor_setup, then move the Icon Constructor to the folder where the installation was carried
